30 minutes from town

Mt Ahumairangi which used to be called "Tinakori" is the backdrop to Wellington and today The Boss decided to revisit the tracks for a morning hike. It's a significant hill so there was some "up" involved but it is a great walk. Of course there are some great views too so the extra today is the Cruise ship "Ovation of The Seas" which is the largest we see here in Wellington carrying 4900 folk. On the way across town this morning we encountered a couple of bus loads of them waiting to get tickets for the Cable Car to the Botanical Gardens. It was a perfect day to go somewhere  else......
