Sgwarnog: In the Field

Well

Access to Ffynnon Dyfnog, St Dyfnog's Well, is much improved thanks to a community led restoration project and it makes for an attractive little woodland walk at Llanrhaedr

Apparently St Dyfnog (born late Sixth Century) regularly immersed himself, with hair shirt and iron belt, in the waterfalls as penitence. The stream developed  a reputation for healing properties as a result, a well was established and became one of the notable holy wells of Wales.

A little further down the road, in the Aldi car park at Ruthin, Brother #2 and I had a brief glimpse (extra) of a small flock of Waxwing, the first I'd seen for a few years.
