Friday

We needed a break for a few hours so headed in to the city for lunch.  We also wanted to go to Kinokuniya bookstore in Japantown.  Seemed like the rest of SF also had the same idea, everywhere was heaving.  Had lunch at On The Bridge (it is literally located on the bridge at the center of Japantown), it's a quirky place and specializes in yoshoku style food.  Comfort food. 

Drove home in some fairly hairy conditions and tried to stay off the freeways as much as possible.  There have been high surf warnings all week, on Monday at the beach we'd seen some impressive swells coming in.  Mavericks has been at full tilt bringing the stuff the big wave surfers dream of.  We're headed coastside on Saturday.
