The Crescent Mural (Detail)

The plan was to walk over the new pedestrian bridge to the former White Bay power station but security and high fences blocked access. It’s a ticketed space for New Years Eve fireworks.

We passed the long mural alongside The Crescent on the pedestrian approach to the bridge. With its terraces, locals, planes, boats, greyhounds and harness racing it’s a snapshot of the area in 1980. 

I was pleased to find that it’s now been heritage-listed.
