A damp dog walk around Langham Church. The graves provided entertainment in the form wonderfully evocative names from the 1550’s to present day. I was particularly delighted by Ebenezer Nourish and Lilo Dorman. Also by Doris Shillaker who died aged 97 yrs, 70 years after her husband. Wow.
Afternoon spent in Oakham, shopping and for the annual pint in the The Lord Nelson, snuggled up by the stove.
We were happily surprised to find our brother in law reading article in The Daily Mirror about our friends who have just completed a 4 month word journey, attempting to get from Somerset to Australia without flying . They are inspirational , bold,, kind folk who try to tread gently on this world. They made it to East Timor and just couldn’t get across the last stretch of sea without flying. I’m so proud of them for what they have achieved. Really hope they can do the return journey without wings. Their story is on buckleupdorothy. Co.uk .
