2023 on it's way out!

Finally got into the studio and got myself in front of the easel...woo hoo!  felt so good!   One of the things i'm wanting to focus on this coming year is what new ways of laying down paint can i try, and also asking more 'what if' during each painting session!   Louise Fletcher posses the question, 'are you an adventurer or a completer'  - in other words do you start the painting with the idea of finishing it, looking for balance etc., or are you moving thro the painting with the unknown destination always off to the side!   so this was begun today, no idea what will happen next, and it's just fine!   This was a newish process for me, a blank canvas and just using oil sticks!   So juicy and so different from applying the paint with a squeegee or a palette knife!

A quiet evening with Terry, might not even make it to midnight!!!
