Summer poppies

There are days when blips seem a bit thin on the ground, and other days when they just jump out at you. The weather today was pretty miserable and after a visit to the Botanic Gardens and Hesketh Park here in Southport I ended up with a bit of a motley collection of which I found these blousy poppies to be the most summery.
