The Cockle Fan

This is near Barnbougle Castle on the south shore of the Firth of Forth between South Queensferry and Cramond.

A lovely walk from just below the railway bridge and the weather was fine. Hundreds of oystercatchers, redshank and the odd curlew on the low tide flats where once prized oyster beds stretched out across the Forth. Old oyster shells are still in evidence
