Unexpected Find
I decided to make us sausage for breakfast. The protein gave me energy to drag out the ironing board. Hubby usually settles for cereal and I make toast or a pastry. Before I started ironing though, I made my mother a few pumpkin breads, one for now and two to freeze for company. Hubby made our reservations for our mid-month trip to see the Tennessee kids. When he went down to visit Momma, I sent her a stollen also. Hubby ensures she pays her taxes. His visit today was to start that quarterly process for this year. He checked our camper during the visit. Mancil and Madi visited her yesterday. She loves company. We had a bit of company today also. My sister was going stir crazy cooped up in the house. Our BIL brought her over to pick up a few of their gifts that they’d left here on Christmas Eve. She is still not 100% so they stayed outside. After they left, I decided to take a stroll looking for a blip. I walked back to the house after finding little to photograph and color in a flower garden caught my eye. Could not believe the periwinkle bloom I found. Hubby returned while I was ironing. He decided to cook the quart of oysters our Mechanicsville sister and BIL gave him for Christmas. See extra. To be honest, I assisted him since he was having a time getting started. I am not a fan of frying any food; just don’t like the greasy mess or smell in the house. He cooked them all to get it over with so he did not have to listen to me whine. Smart guy. He ate some and put away the rest for many future meals. Glad that is behind us. Hubby did all the clean up. We still have more leftovers for dinner; easy evening. Hope your new year is going fine so far. Stay safe.
