A wet journey home
It's rained a lot while we were away and continued to do so all the way home. We encountered quite a lot of surface water and very large puddles in the road - all of which were shallow enough to drive through slowly. Well, except for this one. We came from the left and should have gone up the road you see in the background, but we (along with several others) ended up going round the wrong side of the roundabout through several inches of water. The occupants of this car weren't so lucky and had got stuck (and rescued) before we got there. We were hesitant driving through the edge of this, but cars were going through ok ahead of us. Maybe the driver here didn't have someone to follow and didn't realise how deep it was? We only had a small diversion to get back onto our route. The motorway was generally fine later in the journey, but with a lot of spray and a 50mph limit.
General rule: don't drive through floodwater - especially if you don't know how deep it is.
