Choose Joy

Oh I forgot I took this

I thought I was going to stick you with very vague pictures of a crow taken through the blinds. We have black squirrels in the area but they aren’t that common. They used to be a mile away but now they are near my home. I wonder if they will push the grey squirrels that visit our decks out.

A business replied positively to my request for something! They make bread and cheese sandwiches and they are inclined to donate cheese sandwiches! I asked another company for popcorn and another company for cheese and a couple other companies to sponsor photo booths. I will keep reminding myself that I have what I need - a donation for printing and a venue - and everything else is just icing. Catering is optional. The photo booths are optional.

The coordinator for the Rainbow Youth Alliance loved the pictures, loved the survey, and will tell the kids in the Alliance about it. I already have kids voting. It is so interesting to see what other people think. I look at pictures, I like one, other people like another.

Supposedly we had a little earthquake with us at the epicenter. We slept through it.

My two meetings were both cancelled. I finished my current part of the boring paper and handed it off to other people to do other parts. My assistant asked if we are done with it and I, understanding the ways of the government better now, said we will never be truly free of it.

Ukraine's military has shared new footage appearing to show its air defenses in southern Ukraine taking down a slew of Russian Shahed drones, a key part of Russia's aerial bombardment of the country. The Shahed drones are ones they bought from Iran.

Ukraine also provided footage of HIMARS taking out a Russian Buk air defense system in the contested eastern Donetsk region of the country using U.S.-supplied HIMARS.

To celebrate the new year Russia shot 90 unmanned aerial vehicles (is that a stupid phrase meaning drone or a cute way to say UFO?) at Ukraine. Ukraine shot down 87 of them.
