Risley Moss

It seems to have been raining for weeks, and it’s mild not really as cold as January should be. The Moss of course loves the rain, ideal for the growth of sphagnum. Nothing to be seen today, but I always like the view here and the shades of brown.

Walking through the adjoining woodland we heard a mistle thrush singing some way off. They always start early. But I have been hearing plenty of song thrushes singing, which is definitely far too early.
