On the Boardwalk

The boardwalk runs for several km along the Richmond River, through the centre of Ballina town. This morning, while having coffee nearby, I watched this Darter drying its wings. It was very tolerant of humans walking by, all of whom paused to admire. But then a child on a bike and a small dog came along and the Darter moved back to safety in the river - which this morning, after recent rain, was the colour of my cappuccino.
