Grazing the road verges

It didn’t rain first thing this morning so I had time to walk down to the pier before breakfast and packing up to leave. As I walked back up the hill, cows were meandering along the roadside grazing as they went. Every property here has a cattle grid across the driveway to keep the animals out. I guess it saves having to mow the verges.
