variable sunbird...

This stunning sunbird posed for me for quite a while - usually they are really shy and fly away!  The metallic green was quite stunning in the light.  We have an intense black sky today - somewhere close by they are having quite a storm - the thunder is loud!!

There is a lot of cholera in Zambia and today we were informed that schools will not open on Monday 8th as planned but on Monday 29th!  This is a bit inconvenient as some parents have already sent their children to school (kids go to boarding schools here and some are sent to the opposite end of the country).  It will be quite a challenge for many to find the school transport money again at the end of the month!  We were also informed that the next holiday at the end of April will be one week!  Poor teachers trying to plan and poor students with no break!
