had just appeared over the ridge, lighting the loch with gold. I’d seen the Whooper Swans in a bay and was delighted when they flew towards me! They are usually very shy and reluctant to approach. There were ten of them and I watched them from the hillside for half an hour. The sun was warming and welcome. Three Buzzards appeared in the woodland and there were Bullfinches in the Birches. A glorious day!
