Redhead

As the forecast was better for today, I decided on a walk down by the Lower Don - in other words, the part of the river downstream from the city. Unsurprisingly, it was very full and fast-flowing. There was a large contingent of Goosander who seemed to be enjoying the spate and were plunging into the fastest area of the stream. whizzing along, then flying back upstream to join the gang in a more sheltered section. I’m particularly fond of Goosander, one reason being that they were my first ever Blip. I added a few more  to my year list, including Grey Heron, Cormorant and Pied Wagtail.
