A view from Jeanneb

Culprit!

A lovely start to Friday with a walk up onto Harden Moor with my neighbour D and two fellow blippers.

It was fine and very calm as there was no wind but we didn’t have a sunrise.

When we reached the top, AuntieP behind us spotted two deer. We watched their white tails bobbing away through the trees when suddenly they were being persued by a black and white dog. There were two of them but one soon returned to its owner. D was getting quite distressed as we saw the deer come out of the trees still being pursued across the open moor.

The owner didn’t seem too concerned saying it had no chance of catching them and thankfully it did then return. Here it is having a long drink from the puddle on the rock, hopefully the deer also got some respite after their exertions.

We returned over the moor via the bronze age circle and the hamlet of Ryecroft. Always a good way to start the day though we could have done without the added stress of the deer chase.

Some dreadful scenes on the lunchtime news of flood devastation, particularly from the midlands and the south of England after Storm Henk.
Bradford on Avon was shown and later my daughter sent me pictures of Bathampton mill, an inn also on the Avon just below where they live, flooded again as it was last year. At least we have a forecast of a week of dry if colder weather.

You can see us watching here on Corinthians blip
