White patch

Opened the blinds in bedroom and noticed a white patch near the trees beyond our garden, it was a deer. Waited and eventually it turned and walked into the open. Lovely to see.
Drive over to Alston and a walk along the railway path. Planned to have lunch but when we got to the hotel it was closed, frustrating as we had checked their website and it said the cafe was closed for the winter season, but nothing about the bar and restaurant.
A couple of miles out of town and we tried a cafe, had a lovely soup and cheese scone.
Read in front of wood burner and then cooked dinner.
Off home tomorrow after a really enjoyable time at the cottage.
