I LOVE PUFFINS!!

We'd planned to go on a cruise around Skomer Island today, but as we drove closer it was getting colder, started to drizzle, and the mist really came down. Went to Broad Haven beach first, and you could barely see the headlands. We still drove out though - and thankfully we did, because over the next hour the mist lifted, the rain stopped and the sky lightened. It was a great little cruise around Skomer. Saw LOADS of puffins, both on the cliffs (they live in burrows) and on the sea aswell. My camera isn't the best, and everything is moving, but I still managed a few nice puffin pictures. They are funny little birds, and it takes a great effort for them to start flying when they are on the water, and have tiny wings that they need to flap so hard! It was fanastic to see the puffins, because years ago my daughter and I sailed to Skomer to visit the puffins to be told they all had left 2 weeks previous!! I was so disappointed back then.
On the way back we stopped at Abereiddy beach and walked abit of the coastal path to a 'hidden' beach, only accessible from the coastal path. There were 125 steps down from the path to the beach!!!! Sadly the tide was right in, so very little beach - but still stunning!
