Match

This approach to Valley Parade gives quite a dramatic view of the Midland Road stand bulging out across the road. I liked this ‘going to the match’ scene of the shoulder high youngster with their City hat and Thomas backpack. From the look on his face,Thomas had just been been given notice of the imminent bag search. 

City were awful in the first half and deservedly a goal down to crypto-financed Crawley. Things seemed to have improved in the second half, an equaliser for City and then into a 2-1 lead from a penalty. Then, what can only be described as a City meltdown, Crawley equalised and went on to get two more in added time for a 2-4 final score. 

Not the best start for 2024 for City, but at least the sun was shining. Then a dash back to the train and home to get tea sorted for 16yo.
