getting some shut eye?

I came across this bee on my morning walk, and was very happy that it stayed put until I had finished my photo shoot.
Once I got the photos uploaded I realized there is something very strange about the bee's eyes!
Is it sleeping, or did it die in its sleep?
Well it is finally the official first day of summer! And it is fitting that it is very hot and sunny here today. And I am a happy camper :-)
