Saturday view
The day was swallowed up by things that had to be done and somehow filled all the available time; it was beautifully bright, and I was sorry I didn't get out for a walk. This is a lazy photo - I didn't even go to the back door or balcony, just snapped it through the window while feeding J her brunch. I'm so grateful every day for this wonderful view.
J is not very well, which is partly why the everyday tasks all took so long. It's probably just a cold, but any common infection also exacerbates the constant challenges of her cerebral palsy, making her stiffness and spasm worse and her body just more difficult to live in and manage. However, she rallied for our Zoom meetup with my brothers' families to play Outsmarted, her online quiz game, and for some time we looked like winners, amassing points from her encyclopaedic knowledge of Disney classic animations and my ability to remember last year's news. Later though, our ignorance of television series and sports events lost us our lead and we finished a respectable second. It's quite good fun so long as one doesn't take it or oneself at all seriously, and really nice to be meeting up a bit more frequently.
