Snow on the Forest
It doesn't snow very often in these parts, and even when it does, it rarely settles for long. Alerted by Mrs Catspaw to this morning's flurries, I headed out for the northerly ridge of Ashdown Forest, and found myself in a truly enchanted winter landscape. The bright yellow flowers of Gorse Bushes looked surreal in their sudden winter dusting of snow.
Heading in amongst the snow-covered trees, I was immediately transported in my imagination to forests far deeper, far wilder and more remote than these usually tame southern woodlands...
