Bottom of the barrel? …
… Awful Christmas jumper now washed and airing, ready for another year. (Surely no one buys a fresh one every year?).
Mine has bells on it (they’re out of view here; on the elf’s feet). Quite frankly they’re the only thing that makes wearing this garment bearable. In my imagination, when wearing it, a little sleigh with tiny reindeer accompanies me in all my Christmas doings.
‘Doings’ … Do Ings… a funny word (not to be confused with the kind of ‘doings’ which are reverberating noises made by a hammer striking a confused cartoon person).
‘Doings’ is a multiple use word which my paternal grandparents used to employ regularly, usually meaning ‘things’.
E.g. ‘the bicycle chain is stuck in the doings’. You get the drift?
But, I digress.
‘Doings’ as above, refers to my comings and goings.
It’ll be back in a sealed bag by bedtime, until next year.
Night night weird little jumpery elf.
