Rainy and Cold

Ugh, winter has descended, finally, on western Oregon. We made the best of it while we could...it was a pretty darned nice fall and early winter! The forecast is for very cold temperatures later this week and even snow. Not something to look forward to. Mexico can't come soon enough!

This is a sweet little variegated Wintergreen - Gaultheria procumbens - in a container in my courtyard. It's a US east coast native and produces tasty berries - I remember eating them in the woods when I was a child.
