Wound up in Wexford

Lost

I did take a photo on our journey home.  Just one, and somewhere after that, I lost the camera.

So this is another cheat.

Our alarm woke us at 4.30am Costa Rican time (which is 6 hours behind Irish time), and our taxi arrived promptly at 5.30.  Rather slow moving queue to check in and drop off our bags - many of the people ahead of us seemed to be having complicated problems.  And we discovered that our bags couldn't be checked right through, but would have to be collected at Newark, taken by us through customs, then dropped off again.

And so to Newark.  Disembarked, queued an hour to get through US immigration.  Why?  We weren't staying, we were just in transit.  Do other countries do this (we've transited through Amsterdam, and through Singapore in the past without this hassle)?  Do other airports in the US do this?  Felt really sorry for the many people in the queue with young children.

Collected our bags, towed them through customs, dropped them off, went through security (again!) bought a sandwich and drink each at extortionate cost ($40!), and found our way to our departure gate.  Here, I pulled out my small camera, took a photo of the information board to use as my blip.  And no recollection of seeing it since - think I must have left it lying on/by my seat when our boarding was called!

Did manage a bit of sleep on this leg.

Can't complain about the journey really, it all ran to time.  Just the stupid faff at Newark regarding going through US immigration.  We had avoided that on the way out because there are US immigration preclearance facilities at Dublin airport.

In Dublin, we found our bus to Enniscorthy, texted T from Ferns, and he picked us up, dropped us home some 25 hours after we had woken in San Jose.
