Happy birthday Mum

My lovely Mum would have been 111 today. She was born in 1913 and died when she was 96 in 2009. The second photo was taken about eight months before she died. She was a quiet, unassuming and smart woman who was ever gracious and ever generous. She spent the last 20 years of her life legally blind but, nevertheless, determinedly studied her family history with a torch and magnifying glass. Here's hoping her strength genes are hereditary.
