How High's The Water, Mama?

But - in this photo if you look fairly closely you can see that the creek behind our house is getting higher and wider - going from left to right. It's been raining steadily all day, and is still raining.

The extra is a bedraggled wet cardinal and a not quite so bedraggled looking downy woodpecker sharing (!!) some food.

Edit - just for reference - a new extra from this morning (Wednesday Jan 10) - the creek is basically back down to its normal level.
