Ablutions in the sun

A day that just got hotter and hotter.......not the high-twenties or thirties that some places have had, but mid-twenties (plus??)......enough to make things uncomfortable.  I guess it's a fact of life now and things are likely to get a whole heap worse before they get better.  Let's not get started on that discussion.....!

This fly appeared to be coping quite well with the heat this afternoon.  For dirty creatures, they do spend a lot of time cleaning themselves!

Poor Minnie continues to suffer the oppression of not only being constrained indoors, but being constrained indoors on a hot and stuffy day.  I've spoilt her a bit today as tomorrow is her surgery day.  An early start - I'm not sure how long she'll need to stay at the surgery post-op.  She's expected to be home again tomorrow sometime though.  As I type this she's sitting on the windowsill with her head poking through the small gap, breathing in the relatively cool evening air.
