Canterbury Cathedral
We have escaped to Kent and its so cold! We decided that a visit to the cathedral would at least be indoors.
It was a really interesting visit, including a mini talk about the Chapterhouse. The ceiling in there was decorated in 1405 and is all wooden - Irish bog oak - and it is incredible. It's all held up, and has been for 600 years, with no nails or screws! (See extra)
There is an Anthony Gormley in the crypt, but I wasn't allowed to take photos down there which was a shame.
We are staying in one of our favourite hotels and relaxing with good food and drink is definitely the order of the day.
