Winter Afternoon, Old Lodge
15:40: the afternoon sun behind some scraggly Scots Pines that mark the border between the open heathland of Ashdown Forest and the Sussex Wildlife Trust's Old Lodge Nature Reserve.
Today's 'Extra' of one of the Scots Pines on the actual Forest, was taken from more or less the same spot just a minute earlier, and facing north, or to the right of the main photograph. I was particularly struck by the almost lenticular cloud to the right of the tree (it was positively glowing in the afternoon sun as I was driving along, only to grow dimmer as I parked the car and walked on to the Forest), and by the orangey cloud to the left.
