I spied...
Felt like a good leg stretch on such a fine day so set off, with dog, through the green lane bridle path, down to the old harbour, around the marine walk and along the Parrog behind the beach to the Ocean Lab cafe where we stopped for coffee and cake. Good behaviour is enjoined (for dogs) so Raki sat on my coat and waited for crumbs.
Back via Goodwick Moor nature reserve and the boardwalk through the reedbed, up into town and a bus home.
As usual we both scanned our surroundings throughout with keen nose and sharp eyes. Raki must thoroughly check her social peedia (the olfactory messages posted by other dogs) while I examine anything and everything that takes my interest.
The view above, from the marine walk across the bay to Goodwick, delighted me with the sight of hundreds of gulls settled on the sandbanks exposed by the receding tide.
I also noticed (temporary extras): three chilly cats huddled in a sunny spot waiting to be let in; those knock-kneed railings; a vetch plant that had belayed itself to a blackthorn twig; and a clump of purple bracket fungi growing on a log.
The sun was still shining when we got back 4 hours later.
