The "UP Express"
We had an excellent flight to Toronto today; the pilot had warned us of possible turbulence above the mid-Atlantic but in fact although it was a bit bumpy for a while it didn't turn out to be as bad as they expected and it didn't last for long. We landed about 15 minutes early, and having completed our customs declaration on-line in advance we were able to skip the half-hour queue to do so on arrival.
Naturally there wasn't a lot of time to take photos; this blip was taken on the "UP Express" train from the airport to downtown Toronto ("UP" stands for "Union-Pearson" as it shuttles between Union Station and Pearson airport). It's an excellent, frequent service and not too expensive. From Union we take a subway then a bus (the bus currently replaces the usual tram: the trams are off for about 12 months for major maintenance to the system), which takes us to about 1/4 mile from our son's house so it's very convenient.
On arrival we had the usual frenetic welcome from Granddog Oona and some lovely smiles from Grandson Paddy who soon wanted some stories read to him before he had his tea and went to bed. Then we had a good catchup with our son & daughter-in-law. We're now off to bed at 11pm local time (4am body time) and hoping to sleep well!
