Full steam ahead

Before my third and final visit to the dentist I popped into Maxwell Park hoping to find a suitable blip.  

It was a very dull morning but there was plenty of activity on the pond. There was only one spot where there was some ice under a very thin layer of water.

I first spotted the female Goosander on Boxing Day and she is still there with no obvious mate in sight.  She keeps to the open water leaving the ice for the Black-headed Gulls and Mallards.

After two weeks of limited eating I can now have whatever I want …… a big decision awaits but one thing I will enjoy later in the evening is an apple.
