Rail Corridor
The new southern entrance to Erskineville station - complete with lifts and bridge - is finally open, providing a good view of the rail corridor. The water was a surprise. The leafy plants are elephants ears, aka taro, a starchy vegetable like potato.
State Rail hadn’t forgotten the public art. On the western end of the pedestrian bridge is a photo of Helene Kirsova (temporary extra) the Ballets Russes ballerina who came to Sydney, stayed, married the Danish vice-consul and established playgrounds for deprived inner-city children. Two are in Erskineville.
The creative project is on track.
Thanks for hosting Marlieske.
