Wild Sarracenia
These insectivorous plants aren't native to Britain, they're found in nutrient-poor bogs in America or as houseplants over here. These were growing well off the beaten track in a deeply boggy location and have become invasive.
This patch of them was brought to our Cumbria Wildlife Trust meeting by Peatland Conservation Officer, Sean Prokopiw. He gave us an interesting talk about how poor the peatlands in Cumbria are, and what his team is doing to improve it.
