Funeral today
Today I went to the funeral of Michael, who passed away from complications of MS.
Michael had been diagnosed with primary progressive MS back in the 1980’s when the only treatment was steroids. There was nothing so stop or slow the damage being done.
Every time he got infections he couldn’t fight off on his own, he was given antibiotics and the time finally came were those would no longer work.
Michael never lost his sense of humor throughout his struggle and you usually left his presence in a much better mood than when you arrived.
I am so thankful the 1: I was diagnosed with relapsing remitting MS & 2: there were 4 disease modifying drugs to choose from at that time (almost 30 now!)
