I Witness

By KangaZu

Derelict ...

... walk.

We went back to Housenick Memorial park today at lunch for some fresh air.  And to check on the downed branches we saw yesterday.

They were obviously still there!  But we did see an official Township vehicle pulling out of the park so either my call to report the branches was received or someone else called it in.  I'm going to guess that by our next visit here the branches will have been cleaned up.

The picture on the left shows the branches along the pathway and the one on the right has Richard in it to show the large scale.  The branches fell from the tall evergreen tree on the left side of that picture.  I'm tagging this for the Derelict Sunday challenge as it's a bit derelict right now.

Unfortunately we saw some other trees down at a different place in the park.  It was huge hickory tree that looked to be uprooted ... and took some of the neighboring tree with it when it fell.  These were not along any pathway so I didn't bother to report it as they probably wouldn't remove these anyway.

We had quite a rain storm later in the evening with about an inch of rain being forecast.  That on top of all the snow and rain from earlier this week isn't a good thing.

In other news ... President Biden was in our area this afternoon, which we avoided because of the traffic nightmares!  He is the first president to ever visit the small borough of Emmaus ... and then he went on to Allentown.  Thankfully, we didn't need to go in that direction as a lot of the major highways were closed during his visit here.
