One More Time

One more show to do but we’re enjoying a meal at the golf club first, having dashed down here as soon as the matinee ended - hence some people still being in make-up!
All meals were pre-ordered so we’ve got plenty of time and can enjoy some lovely, home-cooked food and a good gossip about the show.
This is the first time I’ve been to one of these, though they have been going on for years. I would usually go home and just have a bit of downtime between the shows, but the length of this year’s production and some annoying temporary traffic lights in town mean that I would have no sooner arrived home than I’d be setting off again to get here in time for the evening performance.
This afternoon’s crowd were ok for a matinee audience - loads of kids but they joined in enthusiastically, even though some of the more “subtle” jokes did pass them by.
And now it’s all over. A great audience this evening who really got behind us. There was a bit of “end of term” silliness, but nothing over the top. But I did get to kiss the Dame!
Time now to unwind. We’ve done a bit of a Jacob’s Join and have gathered in the bar to celebrate the end of another successful show. There’s still a lot of tidying up to be done, but that can all wait until tomorrow…
