Rare

Crocus kerndorffiorum, a rare species named after German botanist and crocus researcher Helmut Kerndorff.  This tiny flower is a bit of a surprise as the few corms I have from various seed raisings are very small.  A nice surprise on a dull, cold day.   I brought it into the cool porch where the flower opened a little and using the camera flash, as usual creates the black background where the flash has not reached.

A quiet day mostly at home.  A couple of dog outings and some time at Jamie's over teatime apart.   I've been sorting through big boxes of Ruth's things that have been stored here for years. With some remote help from Ruth, three boxes have been reduced to one smaller one plus an equal amount of things to go over to Birmingham next weekend.
