All the bridges
A 2nd Saturday walk to the Hopetoun estate. No 43 bus to S Queensferry, picking up several of the walkers en route. Walked along the shore under the Queensferry Crossing, in sunshine, all the more appreciated because the Firth had been under a thick mist when I set off. There were curlews feeding and calling as the tide was out.
Through the estate to the path beyond, which carries on to Blackness Castle, though we turned up the hill and came back on the ridge in the sun. It's a lovely classic deerpark, with a sizeable herd of fallow deer which we saw in the distance. There's a lot of tree work going on, making for some muddy tracks .. In extra, the long view to the back of the house.
No 43 bus back to town; a grand day out. More story and pictures at @2ndSatStrollers @lovenature @Livresse and @SparseRunner
