Chaffinch in the sunshine

This morning I hung around in the garden looking for a bird blip for my 1000th blip. There was snow on the ground and it was rather cold but the sky was blue and the sun was shining. None of the birds were  very interested in the lavish spread at our bird table. This could have been because my neighbour's garden had an even better offering and a number of handy apple trees to hang out on while they were queuing. I propped my camera on top of the fence to snap this lovely lady chaffinch. The robin in the extra is so puffed up it looks like a tiny football.
