Spent this morning at Mystic Seaport exploring boats! This is the last surviving US whaling boat. It was built in 1841 with a life expectancy of 20 years so has beaten the survival odds pretty handsomely and is in the process of being restored, with a lot of the wood coming from New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina. It'll be refloated next week so hopefully won't sink!

Have now made our way up to Enfield and will be visiting Doug & Mary this evening. Haven't seen them in yonks so that'll be pretty good (as long as I find their house).
