Owls

I spent the day photographing short eared owls, bumping into JDO and Hillyblips in the process.  Conditions were cold, bitingly so when the wind blew.  However, all discomfort was forgotten when these guys finally deigned to put in an appearance towards the end of the day.  

I've taken about a 1,000 shots, not all of them in focus by any means, and not all of them with the subject as close as I would like it to be , but it is going to take me a while to work my way through them, and this is a good sample.   

The main doesn't have any context, I would normally prefer a shot with some background to it as the extras have, but the fierce intent on the hunter's face is such that I've decided to go with it.
