Halved

The enormous conifer tree opposite my house was halved in height this morning by contracters who also seemed to demolish every shrub and thrash the hedges to next to nothing. Oh well I suppose it will look tidy and all grow again.

I used to see nothing but trees but soon it will be mostly houses and very few trees.

Very tired today but recovered a little this evening. I watched Kind Hearts and Coronets with Mum and Dad - I always think of it as a film were Alec Guinness plays lots of parts and forget how good Dennis Price was and how witty the writing.
