Hibiscus

One of the plants that has survived for a number of years in a pot outside my office window.  

I took this picture this morning, but sadly once some of the kids who had arrived back at the boys hostel a day early, decided that his mum should have the flower as a gift.  She wasn't quite sure what to do, acknowledging it was a lovely gesture, but felt bad that the only flower on our plant had been decapitated.  

Perhaps it was good in a way as the storm that blew in later took most of the blooms of the more delicate plants in pots.
