A Covey of Partridges #13/14
It's been another cold day, but with little wind it was lovely in the sunshine. We did our lockdown loop of nearly 4 miles around lunchtime and spotted way more species of birds than numbers of people. In fact we only saw 4 people altogether, one jogger with a dog, one man with a dog and a couple with a dog. During lockdown it was a very popular area to walk, jog or cycle, but not today.
We saw 19 species of birds, including this covey of what I thought were grey partridges, but if you look closely in amongst them there looks to be a red-legged partridge as well(the one at the back with the red eye and beak).
We don't often see partridges, so it was great to see both species.
