M67 footbridge
...that crosses the M67 takes the line of what was Hoviley Brow, a road deleted by the carving out & constructing of the motorway.
Being a 1970s concrete affair it is lasting quite well. Like most similar things it is criminally unattractive and underused, but what I like about it's design is how it mimicks the two 'roving' canal bridges that take the Peak Forest towpath from one side of the nearby canal to the other.
I don't think the footbridge was designed this way for reasons of vanity, as due to the original alignment of Hoviley Brow (vs. the new motorway) and the topography, it is actually a very practical solution...for pedestrians & cyclists that is, not for horses towing narrowboats!
