On the move
I woke up about 2 and never really got back to sleep. Caught up in Newscast and the staggeringly awful testimonies at the PO scandal hearing. And sent work messages. I'm in 3'time zones. It's hard.
Sat and chatted to Jamie at breakfast about Gaelic and elections. He's trying to teach himself Malayalam.
Lay by the pool till it was time to check out and then walked across th the Santa Cruz Basilica followed by the Thali Café for a soft drink then I sat and watched the men fish using the Chinese fishing nets. Finally, avoiding tuk tuk drivers and salesmen I made it The Seagull for lunch.
Got chatting to an English couple heading back to Norfolk tomorrow, non vaxxers, non maskers and def not a fan of Jacinda Ardern. Just as well we didn't B start v on Brexit! This Taiwanese container ship headed to sea as we chatted. I had v spicy chicken. The waiter said it was too spicy for him!
Back at the hotel Inlay by the pool and dozed, but no swimming. Left just before 6 and it took 2 hours to get to the airport by a very circuitous route to avoid the Mohsin generated traffic chaos. The driver spoke excellent English, had either accrued and was very scathing about Indian politicians.
Now in departures waiting for the flight back to KL. Interesting security screening - loads of stuff from tablets to earphones had to go in the tray, but no mention of liquids. Just as well we don't have this palaver at EDI as the queues would be massive. But the seats in departures are awesome!
It's already Thursday in KL.
